The Calidus’ species can be traced back to a time before the Earthshatter, where they walked the paths of the present-day Floating Forest when it was still anchored securely to the ground. Alongside them strode Viredeth, the god imparting the knowledge and wisdom of the natural world, telling them the forest was theirs as long as they were stewards of the land.
While some pieces of this legendary time still linger in Calidus nursery rhymes and children’s stories, most of their roots have been long forgotten, seeing their species as one without a united purpose or direction. Many Calidus are nomadic for that reason, always looking for somewhere to settle but rarely finding a place they can truly call home.
